THE WOOD CARVING
Thammampatti is a small village near the foot of the Kolli hills. It is very famous for its art of carving wooden statues. A group of 100 families is actively pursuing this through generations. The craft is GI-tagged, and the artisans in this village have won around 40 national awards to date for their craftsmanship.
