Umashankar & Shirpaa came together to have one of the finest weddings that I have ever documented in Kambam near Theni, Tamilnadu. The entire wedding was very simple in terms of the rituals. There were no priests nor the holy fire. The bride just went around the groom three times after which the groom wears the Thaali on the bride’s neck and the couple are pronounced married. As simple as that. It was an unique experience for me as a photographer to shoot the wedding.
Soon after the wedding we had a post wedding shoot. Unfortunately we could not hit the scenic Tamilnadu-Kerala border because of the riots in Koodalur. So we decided to drive around some areas of Theni and Vaigai river. Nevertheless we had lots and lots of fun. Here are some pictures from the wedding and the outdoor shoot.
